Group of entrepreneurs, investors, economists launch Europa 2028 Platform

Around 30 entrepreneurs, investors, economists, and well-known figures from Moldova, including Victor Bostan, Vasile Tofan, Carolina Bugaian, Vitalie Tătaru, Ion Luca, and Viorel Roșcovan, have launched the civic initiative Europa 2028. Through this platform, the signatories aim to raise awareness among the population about the importance of continuing the European path: 'Our only chance to build a competitive economy is joining the European Union, and the moment is now'.

Partner at the investment fund Horizon Capital, which manages about 1.6 billion dollars, Vasile Tofan is one of the most visible investors in the region, focusing on Moldova and Ukraine. He has led significant investments in companies such as Purcari, Glass Container Company, and Maib, as well as in regional leaders in Ukraine like Rozetka, Aurora, Intellias, and Ajax Systems.

Among the platform's members are entrepreneurs with success stories:

Iulia Grigoriev, an economist who left a job at JP Morgan, London, to develop a family business in biscuit production and export;

Victor Bostan, a winemaker and founder of the largest wine producer in Central and Eastern Europe;

Dumitru Marchitan, a young farmer who returned from the Netherlands after a career at Nike, managing a walnut orchard and exporting to the European market.

The initiators of Europa 2028 platform claim that the window of opportunity for European integration of the Republic of Moldova is open.
