Chisinau city hall warns citizens about heavy rains recorded in Moldovan capital on September 1 evening

The Chisinau city hall warns citizens and guests of the capital to be cautious in the coming days, because of the heavy rains, lightning, hail and strong winds.

The warning comes after heavy thunderstorm rains were recorded in Chisinau today evening. Municipal authorities said that specialized services were already on the ground and ready to intervene in case of incidents. Residents are advised to avoid areas with old trees and not to park their cars under them, and parents should pay extra attention to supervising their children.

The city hall recommends that, in emergency situations caused by weather phenomena, citizens should contact the Municipal Central Dispatch at numbers (022) 22-22-67 or (022) 22-26-04, or call the emergency number 112.

“The safety of residents is our priority. Please, follow the recommendations and avoid exposure to extreme weather conditions,” a city hall representative said.
