Over 850 COVID-19 cases reported in Moldova in past week

The National Public Health Agency (ANSP) reports that, during August 25–31, 855 COVID-19 cases were reported, which represents a 14-per cent decrease compared to the week before. A number of 280 (33 per cent) out these cases were reported among children aged up to 14.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the ANSP's Information and Communication Service, Olesea Croitor, emphasized that the institution highlighted the importance of heightened vigilance and the constant enforcement of prevention and control measures, especially in the context of the new school year starting, which involves the resumption of activities in communities and increased population’s mobility.

ANSP specialists recommend that citizens observe simple yet effective measures: maintaining social distance, avoiding crowded places, observing hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene, regularly ventilating indoor spaces at work and getting vaccinated, including with booster doses. Citizens are also encouraged to monitor their health and get information from official sources.
