Memorandum signed in Istanbul: Moldova and Turkey to cooperate in energy sector
Chisinau, Nov 23 /MOLDPRES/- Moldova and Turkey will cooperate in the energy sector. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov and his Turkish counterpart Alparslan Bayraktar signed a memorandum in Istanbul.
Parlicov emphasized that the agreement is aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience, developing joint projects, attracting investments and strengthening energy security.
"During the meeting with my Turkish counterpart, we discussed opportunities in natural gas supply, renewable energy, energy efficiency, electricity trade and smart grid technologies. We agreed to develop the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey," wrote Parlicov.
Parlicov attended Istanbul Energy Forum this week. The event aimed to promote regional and international cooperation in the energy sector. The event brought together energy ministers, representatives of international organizations, NGOs, academia and private sector leaders to discuss energy security, integration of renewables and the role of interconnections in building resilient and sustainable energy markets.
