CEC launches web platform for district electoral councils
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is launching the platform cece.cec.md, which hosts the web pages of all second-level district electoral councils in the Republic of Moldova.
The new platform was created to strengthen the transparency of the activities of lower-level electoral bodies, facilitate public access to electoral information of public interest, and develop more effective communication with voters, electoral competitors, media representatives, observers, and other participants in the electoral process.
Through their own web pages, the district electoral councils will be able to promptly and transparently inform the public about the activities carried out, the decisions adopted, and the actions taken in the exercise of their legal duties.
"The platform provides access to information on the composition of electoral councils, contact details, adopted decisions and administrative acts, press releases, public announcements, as well as other relevant information regarding the organization and conduct of electoral processes at the local level. At the same time, the new digital tool contributes to the creation of a unified information space for the electoral administration, ensuring the publication of information in a standardized, accessible, and easy-to-consult format. Thus, citizens will be able to quickly identify information of interest and will benefit from an official and up-to-date source regarding the activity of electoral bodies in their district," the CEC announced.
The launch of the platform represents a new stage in the process of modernizing and digitalizing the electoral administration, carried out in accordance with the CEC’s strategic objectives of increasing institutional transparency, improving public communication, and strengthening citizens’ trust in electoral processes.
