European Commissioner for Enlargement to pay visit to Moldova

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will pay a visit to Moldova on June 4-6. The agenda includes participation in the first EU–Moldova Investment Conference, the opening of the Moldova Digital Summit 2026 and trips to localities around the country.

“We are bringing progress in Moldova’s EU accession process, opening new investment prospects, engaging in dialogue with young mayors, honouring the country’s traditions and uniting Moldova through dialogue with the opposition and critical voices,” Marta Kos said.

According to the Delegation of the European Union to Moldova, on June 4 Commissioner Marta Kos will open the EU–Moldova Investment Conference, focused on economic opportunities and on the European Union’s Growth Plan for Moldova – an essential instrument for mobilizing investments, supporting the economy and modernizing the country. On the same day, at 12:00, Commissioner Marta Kos will hold a press conference together with President Maia Sandu.

On 5 June, the Commissioner will take part in the opening of the Moldova Digital Summit 2026, an event dedicated to digital transformation and to integrating  Moldova into the European technological space. Later, the Commissioner will hold discussions with mayors from more regions of the country.

On 6 June, the Commissioner will conclude her visit with more trips outside Chisinau, including to the Marta and Maria Monastery and to a peasant household in the village of Slobozia-Dusca. The EU official will talk with people from local communities about traditions, rural development and the European path of  Moldova.

The most recent visit to Chisinau of European Commissioner Marta Kos took place in last November.
