Moldovagaz, Tiraspoltransgaz sign loan agreement for 3 million cubic meters of natural gas
Moldovagaz and Tiraspoltransgaz have signed a loan contract for 3 million cubic meters of natural gas to support the functionality of the gas system on the left bank of the Dniester River.
Moldovagaz made the statement today.
Deliveries will be carried out based on requests from Tiraspoltransgaz. According to the terms of the agreement, this volume of natural gas is to be returned by March 1, 2025.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that the European Union is providing a support package for the Republic of Moldova in the context of the energy crisis on the left bank of the Dniester. This includes the supply of 3 million cubic meters of natural gas to the Transnistrian region and a grant of 30 million euros for electricity production, including for the right bank of the Dniester.
From January 1, 2025, despite contractual commitments, the Russian Gazprom concern stopped gas deliveries to Moldova, which were entirely directed to the Transnistrian region.
