Moldovan Customs Service warns about rules as to owning vehicles with foreign registration numbers
Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service has asked the owners of transport means with foreign registration numbers to observe the legal regulations. The warning comes up in the context when more and more often cases are recorded of exceeding the period of stay in Moldova of touring cars imported and declared through action.
Under the provisions of the Customs Code and the legislation in force, the term of the stay in Moldova of transport means declared through action and placed under customs regime of temporary admission cannot exceed 180 days in a period of 12 month in a row.
„Exception represents the transport means imported to the customs area by the private people with residence in any foreign state and who hold driver’s licence issued in the country where they have their residence, declared through action. They can stay on the customs area of Moldova for a period of up to three years,’’ the Customs Service said.
The non-observance of the conditions of unfolding of the customs regime of temporary admission of the transport means declared through action is sanctioned with fine worth from 60 to 90 conventional units, with the obligation to take out the transport unit from Moldova.
The road transport means for which the term provided has expired are identified and brought by the police, border police or mobile teams of the Customs Service to the closest customs office of the border customs checkpoint. The expenses of escorting the road transport means are covered by the private person who infringed the term of stay of the vehicles in Moldova.
„At the same time, the people who failed to take out the transport means declared through action from the country in time have no right to import another transport means to Moldova,’’ the Customs Service said.
