Deputy Prime Minister meets with Israeli Foreign Minister

Moldovan-Israeli cooperation was discussed today in Chișinău by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Gideon Sa'ar. The officials established priority directions in fields such as green energy, agriculture, health and education.

The ministers discussed the revival of the Moldovan-Israeli intergovernmental commission for commercial-economic cooperation, which will facilitate the stimulation of reciprocal investments and the implementation of joint projects in key sectors.

"The Moldovan-Israeli intergovernmental commission is an important mechanism for stimulating trade exchanges, implementing joint projects, and attracting investments. The inauguration of the Israeli Embassy in Chișinău in February will further facilitate these connections," stated Mihai Popșoi.

Furthermore, the officials reaffirmed their commitment to expand the bilateral legal framework by signing, in the near future, cooperation agreements in fields such as agriculture and tourism. These will contribute to strengthening sectoral collaboration and developing partnerships between the two states.

Popșoi along with his Israeli counterpart will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the Stumbling Stone in memory of Mrs. Leah Svartzman and will visit the Jewish Community Center, as a sign of respect for Holocaust victims and to support Jewish community life in the Republic of Moldova.

Gideon Moshe Sa'ar is visiting the Republic of Moldova today. The last working visit of the Israeli official to our country took place in February 2025.
