Set of documents with different identities belonging to Vladimir Plahotniuc and Constantin Țuțu seized following airport and home searches
A set of documents belonging to Vladimir Plahotniuc and Constantin Țuțu were seized following body searches conducted at the airport and their residence in Greece. The documents had different identities, and some of them belong to the same state.
The information was sent to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) by the Greek authorities. It concerns the identities held and the multitude of documents allegedly issued by different states to Vladimir Plahotniuc and Constantin Țuțu.
“During body searches at the airport and residence, a series of documents with different identities were found. Some of them belong to the same state but have different identity and photo, with the birth date/day/month/year being modified,” IGP said.
Following their detention, IGP has sent a series of requests to other states to establish and specify information regarding these citizens.
Former Democratic leader Vladimir Plahotniuc was detained on 21 July by Greek authorities at Athens International Airport shortly before boarding a flight to Dubai. Alongside him, former deputy Constantin Țuțu was also detained.
