New director-general of National Energy Regulatory Agency appointed today

Alexei Taran was appointed as director-general of the Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) on 6 March. His candidacy was supported by 57 deputies.

According to the Parliament's decision, he will serve as director-general until the expiration of his mandate as a member of the ANRE Board of Directors.

Taran has been part of the Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency since March 2022. He graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest and has worked in companies in both the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

His candidacy for ANRE's director was proposed after the mandate of Veaceslav Untilă expired.

The ANRE Board is composed of five directors, who are selected through a competition and appointed by the Parliament.
