VIDEO // Digital transformation must be visible in people’s daily lives and in how economy works: Prime Minister visits e-Governance Agency
Digital transformation must be visible in people’s daily lives and in how the economy works. The message was delivered by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, who paid a visit to e-Governance Agency (AGE).
During the visit, the AGE team, together with Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, set priorities and working methods for the coming period so that digital public services become simpler, more accessible, and easier to use.
“I encourage you to define the metrics that matter. Everyone should know them, so we understand in which direction we are rowing. Thank you for what you are doing, it is very important work; with your help we can make things more efficient,” said Vasile Tofan.
According to AGE, digitalization is one of the keys to economic growth in the Republic of Moldova, and the authorities’ objective is to have a 100% digital state by 2030.
“We aim for the EVO application to become the main access point for public services, documents, payments, and notifications. At the same time, we will establish clear performance indicators, focused not only on the number of digitalized services, but also on increasing the number of active EVO users. We discussed how to build the most user-friendly digital state and reached the same conclusion: digitalization is one of the keys to economic growth in the Republic of Moldova,” AGE stated.
According to AGE data, currently over 78% of services intended for the business environment are digitalized, which means 425 public services are available online. At the same time, more than 43 percent of public service provider institutions in the country offer services in fully digital format. According to estimates made as part of the digital transformation monitoring process, in 2025 alone the use of digital public services generated savings of over 853 million lei by reducing the time needed to provide and access services.
