French envoy awarded diplomatic merit medal by MAEIE
Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, awarded the ambassador of the French Republic to Chisinau Pascal Le Deunff the Diplomatic Merit medal, first class, the highest distinction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the significant impetus recently recorded in Moldovan-French relations.
According to the MAEIE press service, in the context of the farewell visit, the Foreign Minister mentioned the significant contribution of the French diplomat on the decision of the French Development Agency to operate in Moldova, support for fighting corruption and attracting new French investments in Moldovan economy.
"I reiterated that the Republic of Moldova and France are closer than ever, as evidenced by the meeting of President Maia Sandu with her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, in February 2021, in Paris, and the recent visit to Chisinau of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Yves Le Drian ", Nicu Popescu said.
At the end, the official conveyed on this occasion the wishes of success in the subsequent professional activity and the gratitude for the friendship of France and the support of Moldova's efforts in the process of European integration and modernization of the country.
