The investment priorities that will support the economic development of Moldova under the Moldova Growth Plan today were discussed at the government, during the fourth meeting dedicated to the investment portfolio. Representatives of the government, the European Commission and international financial institutions attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on the investments needed to enhance the competitiveness of the economy in such areas as transport infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education and vocational training, as well as water, healthcare and environmental infrastructure. These investments aim to reduce production and export costs, improve connectivity with the European market, create conditions for attracting private investment, strengthen energy resilience and invest in energy efficiency.

Particular emphasis was placed on optimizing the procedures for preparing and developing these projects, in order to contract the resources by the end of 2027 and deliver tangible results for citizens.

Projects already at advanced stages of preparation were also addressed. The participants reviewed the operationalization and implementation status of these projects, as well as bottlenecks and risks that might affect the established deadlines, including the construction of the Balti Regional Hospital, the Moldova Orchard II project, the modernization of schools, the rehabilitation of the M3 and R7 roads, the energy efficiency of public buildings, the rehabilitation of irrigation systems and the modernization of vocational and technical education infrastructure.

The investments are aimed at stimulating economic development, increasing productivity and exports, creating better-paid jobs and accelerating the economic convergence of Moldova with the European Union.
