Moldovan parliament to put forward Nicolae Rosca, Liuba Sova for new term at Constitutional Court

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today informed that the legislative body would put forward Liuba Sova and Nicolae Rosca as judges at the Constitutional Court (CC). The two magistrates will get a new mandate.

“Both candidates are judges at the Constitutional Court and have the professional competencies necessary to ensure a new mandate at the institution,” said Igor Grosu.

Also today evening, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that the government would approve, at its next meeting, the appointment of Domnica Manole and Sergiu Litvinenco as CC judges.

The terms of five constitutional judges are set to expire.

The Constitutional Court is made up of six judges: two are appointed by the parliament, two - by the government, and two - by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM).
