Moldovan president awards state distinctions to Moldova's representatives at Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met the members of the Zdob și Zdub band and the brothers Vasile and Vitalie Advahov, who represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, as well as the managerial and creation team which contributed to their performance on stage in Turin, the presidential press service has reported.
„I also watched the performing of our musicians, along with millions of people. I appreciated the talent, originality and energy with which they told the entire world about Moldova, about our culture and traditions. I thanked them once again for the happiness they had brought us, ranking seventh in the competition and I urged them to remain, in continuation, promoters of Moldova – the Republic of nice people,’’ President Maia Sandu told the country’s representatives at Eurovision. According to the head of state, we need this especially now, when we set out on the road of European integration with resolute steps – a road on which we will succeed inclusively through talent and value.
The Order of Honour today was awarded to Roman Yagupov and brother Vasile and Vitalie Advahov, as a token of appreciation of this value, as well as for the artistic talent, originality and prodigious creation activity. Also, the head of state awarded Honorary Diplomas to the entire team of the Eurovision-2022 project.
„This is a gesture of gratitude on behalf of all Moldova’s citizens, for the feeling of pride you made us experience and for which we thank you,’’ Maia Sandu said on the occasion of handing over the distinctions and diplomas.
