Moldovan Prime Minister in discussions with local representatives from Rezina
Chisinau, July 13. /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Dorin Recean had a meeting with representatives of the local public administration and the decentralized services from Rezina district. They discussed the consolidation of the efforts of the central and local public administration to speed up the regional development of the country, the importance of using the available financial sources for the modernization of the infrastructure and the increase in the quality of the services provided to citizens, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The official said that the authorities remain focused on advancing the European integration process, and access to European resources helps the government build a resilient state, with independent institutions, a performing economy and a more resilient society.
"Economic growth and well-being await us at the country's pre-accession stage, when we will benefit from additional funds that will contribute to the improvement of people's living standards and the development of our communities. That is why it is important to mobilize to deliver the 9 recommendations of the European Union. Together, we have an irreversible commitment to the citizens, to build Europe here, at home", said Recean.
The representatives of the local public authorities spoke about the financing needs in various fields, and pointed out the opportunities the European Village program offers in this regard. According to Recean, the authorities are considering the possibility to earmark additional resources to launch a new call for projects. Until then, the government will help train and boost creation of project writing teams to draw additional investment in the country's districts.
They also discussed local public administration salaries, real estate tax review, repair of roads in localities and construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline. The social assistance was also addressed. According to the prime minister, this system must be reviewed, so that the categories of beneficiary people are better targeted, and people are encouraged to enter the workforce. "The contribution of the local public administration is important in this process", Recean said.
