New ambassadors, including from EU member states, present letters of accreditation to Moldovan President
President Maia Sandu has received the letters of accreditation on behalf of nine ambassador-designates. Four of them represent European Union member states, all residing in Chisinau: Martina Hermann, Ambassador-designate of Austria; Siiri Königsberg, Ambassador-designate of Estonia; Mindaugas Kačerauskis, Ambassador-designate of Lithuania; and Esselien Hermien Theresia Van Eerten, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Anne Kjersti Amundsen, residing in Chisinau, presented the accreditation letters on behalf of Norway, a member of the European Economic Area. At the same time, Danilo Brajović, residing in Bucharest, presented the letters of accreditation on behalf of Montenegro, a candidate country for European Union membership.
Estonia and Norway are represented for the first time by ambassadors residing in Chisinau, after the diplomatic offices of the two countries were upgraded to embassy status.
The letters of credence were also presented by Alexander Valentín Rodríguez Salazar, Ambassador-designate of Cuba, residing in Bucharest; Koma Steem Jehu-Appia, Ambassador-designate of Ghana, residing in Moscow; and Jorge Ricardo Silén Santacoloma, Ambassador-designate of Panama, residing in Warsaw.
