Parliament speaker meets new Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu had had a meeting with Christopher W. Smith, the new Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova and the OSCE mediator in the Transnistrian settlement process.
Igor Grosu congratulated Christopher Smith on assuming his mandate and wished him success in his work, expressing openness to close cooperation with the OSCE Mission. The discussions focused on developments in the Transnistrian region, prospects for the country's reintegration process and the security situation in the region.
The parliament speaker reiterated that Moldova would continue to promote a peaceful and lasting settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, with respect for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the same time, the authorities will continue bringing the two banks of the Dniester closer together through concrete economic, social and sectoral reintegration measures, for the benefit of citizens.
