Moldova celebrates 35 years since proclamation of Independence

President Maia Sandu on August 27 will take part in the events dedicated to Independence Day, held under the motto, Independence Unites Us.

The official schedule will begin at 08:30, when President Maia Sandu, together with the parliament speaker and the prime minister of Moldova, will lay flowers at the Eternity Memorial Complex, followed by a flower-laying ceremony at the monument of Stephen the Great and Holy at 09:30.

In the second half of the day, President of Romania Nicusor Dan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy are expected in Chisinau.

At 14:35, President Maia Sandu will welcome President Nicusor Dan, and starting from 16:45 they will jointly attend, on the Great National Assembly Square, the military parade dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.

At 18:00, President Maia Sandu will welcome President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Afterwards, a trilateral meeting of the delegations of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine will take place, followed at 19:25 by press statements on behalf of the three heads of state.

In the evening, President Maia Sandu and the two distinguished guests will go to the Great National Assembly Square, where, after 21:00, they will address the citizens.

Media representatives are invited to the Presidency for the welcoming of the President of Romania Nicusor Dan (access between 14:00–14:20), the welcoming of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy (access between 17:25–17:45), as well as for the press statements of the three heads of state (access between 18:50–19:10).
