PM in Ocnita says agriculture essential pillar of Moldova's economy
Chisinau, 25 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean today visited a cattle farm of the Colesnic family, where about 150 cattle is bred at present. The business was started seven years ago, when the owner returned from abroad, the government’s communication department has reported.
After making a tour of the farm, entrepreneur Sergiu Colesnic presented a project on extension of the business, noting that, on the next period, he planned to build a big stable on the ground nearby the farm.
The PM discussed with the farmer challenges and opportunities of the agricultural sector, stressing the importance of the government’s support for the development of local farms. ‘’The agriculture is an essential pillar of our economy and the farmers deserve every support, in order to continue to flourish and innovate,’’ the prime minister said.
A good deal of the technology used in the business was got through government’s projects – with the help of the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, the farmer got 180,000 lei. Also, through the Agency of Intervention and Payments for Agriculture, he managed to buy two tractors, combines and technology for bales.
In 2022, the Colesnic family bought about 100 race cattle heads. The milk got is sold at milk factories from north Moldova.
