President Maia Sandu in Munich has continued the discussions on the security of  Moldova, the country’s and society’s resilience to external threats and on the European path. The head of state held bilateral meetings with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs, and with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.

Maia Sandu also met Reem Alabali-Radovan, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, with whom she discussed the continuation of German assistance for Moldova, including for water and sanitation projects and for enhancing energy efficiency—projects aimed at improving the living standards in more communities.

The head of state also met MPs from Estonia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and Sweden, promoting the strategic goal of Moldova’s accession to the European Union.

At the conference, the Moldovan president took part in a debate on the prevention  and combating of hybrid threats, alongside Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, President of the German Federal Intelligence Service Martin Jäger and the Chair of the NATO Military Committee Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.

"Moldova may be on the front line of Russia’s hybrid war, but this is a cognitive war against Europe—against our values, our unity and the trust in our societies. A stronger Moldova in the European Union means a stronger and safer Europe," the head of state added.
