Alexandr Stoianoglo says everybody's vote deserves respect
Chisinau, 4 November /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate for the office of Moldovan president, Alexandr Stoianoglo, has addressed the citizens following the publication of the first preliminary results. Stoianoglo thanked for the participation in the elections, stressing that the democracy means ‘’maturity before the result.’’
„Dear people of Moldova! The first results appear and I urge you to preserve calm, no matter the figures posted. The vote of each person deserves respect and the democracy means, first of all – maturity before the result,’’ Alexandr Stoianoglo said.
The Socialists’ candidate for the office of president voiced hope that this ballot would put an end to the hatred and division. ‘’I sincerely hope that, from now on, we will put an end to the hatred and division, imposed to us. I call on each citizen to look beyond the narrow interests and the mass media and NGO’s affiliated to the power should find again their vocation to objectively inform the society, giving up the manipulation, hysterization and the artificial division of the society,’’ Stoianoglo said.
Alexandr Stoianoglo also addressed the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, to treat with maximal prudence, objectiveness and balance this sensitive phase. ‘’Moldova needs peace, not artificial tensions,’’ the candidate said.
„Dear friends! I thank, once again, each of you, for the courage to express through vote, for the determination to outline a better future. The future of this country has no room for absurd fights, but only for unity and mutual respect. We should preserve the energy of this moment and edify together a peaceful and prosperous Moldova,’’ Stoianoglo added.
The runoff presidential elections are held in Moldova on 3 November. The current President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, backed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and the candidate of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Alexandr Stoianoglo, fight for the office of head of state.
