Alternative Bloc launched on Moldova's political stage
The leaders of three political parties of Moldova and a former candidate for the post of Moldovan president have informed about the launch of the Alternative political bloc. Ion Ceban, Alexandr Stoianoglo, Ion Chicu and Mark Tkaciuk, at a today’s news conference, said that the new coalition was set to promote the vector of Moldova’s European integration.
Thus, the Alternative political bloc includes the National Alternative Movement Party, led by the mayor of Chisinau municipality, Ion Ceban, the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, led by the former PM, Ion Chicu, the Civic Congress, led by Mark Tkaciuk, a former MP and adviser of ex-president of Moldova, Vladimir Voronin, as well as the team of the former prosecutor general, Alexandr Stoianoglo, who ran for the office of Moldova’s president at the ballot on 20 October 2024.
The four leaders stressed that the bloc’s principal goals would be ‘’the European integration and the well-being of the citizens.’’
Ion Ceban stressed that it he spoke out for the European integration as the major objective of the country. ‘’We speak the Romanian language, we know that there is a war and an aggression in the East against Ukraine and we must focus on the needs of our citizens,’’ Ion Ceban said.
For his part, Alexandr Stoianoglo said that ‘’the citizens must know that the Alternative Bloc is for Moldova, for the people who live in our country, for the settlement of the problems and needs which are here.’’
„The citizens ask the political establishment to prove responsibility for the country’s fate. We are ready to take this responsibility,’’ Ion Chicu said.
At the same time, Mark Tkaciuk said that ‘’the bloc will represent the interests of the citizens, around whom the goals of the political bloc are outlined.’’
