Enhancing Moldovan-Nepalese relations discussed in Kathmandu

On the sidelines of official visit to Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popșoi met with Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli.

The discussions focused on enhancing Moldovan-Nepalese relations.

The Chisinau official emphasized the importance of the Nepalese market for Moldova, mentioning that this market, with approximately 30 million inhabitants, represents a major opportunity for expanding economic exchanges.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Republic of Moldova is open to attracting investments from Nepal and to boosting trade exchanges, especially in sectors such as agriculture and food industry.

“The Republic of Moldova has quality fruits, especially apples, plums, grapes, as well as internationally appreciated quality wines. We are interested in exporting them to the Nepalese market,” Popșoi said.

The officials also addressed possibilities for collaboration in education, including academic partnerships and student exchange programs. Mihai Popșoi mentioned that diplomas obtained from higher education institutions in Moldova are internationally recognized, including in the European Union.

At the end of the meeting, the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister invited the Prime Minister of Nepal to visit the Republic of Moldova.
