
First candidates registered for electoral race in new local elections on 18 May
First 10 candidates have been registered by the first-level electoral constituency councils in the six localities where new local elections will be held on 18 May 2025.
According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), a total of 19 applications have been submitted for the position of mayor, with 10 candidates already registered. Out of them, eight are nominated by political parties, and two are independent candidates.
Thus, in the village of Tabani, Briceni district, four applications were submitted, and two candidates were registered. In Călugăr village, Fălești district, three applications were submitted, and two candidates were registered. In Boldurești commune, Nisporeni district, four applications were submitted, and two candidates registered. In Chiperceni commune, Orhei district, four applications were submitted, with one candidate registered. In the village of Talmaza, Ștefan Vodă district, seven applications were submitted, and three candidates were registered.
For the position of councilor in the local council, applications and candidate lists were submitted by five political parties.
CEC reminds that today, 18 April is the last day for applications and the electoral constituency councils have 7 days to make a decision on the registration or non-registration of candidates.
At the same time, for the already registered candidates, the electoral campaign begins today.
