Spokesperson for Moldova's government says Moldovan citizens can decide, through vote, who is to be next president of Romania

The citizens of Moldova, through their vote, can decide who will be the next president of Romania. Moldova has the power to tip the scales with a lucid, informed and determined pro-European vote. The spokesperson for the government, Daniel Voda, today conveyed a message to this effect. He urged  Moldovans with Romanian citizenship to exercise their right to vote at Romania’s presidential elections.

Daniel Voda emphasized that there were many candidates at these elections, but there is only one direction worth supporting: the European direction - a direction which means democracy, security, common values and a future together.

“Dear friends, today is the last day of voting in the race for Cotroceni. Never - but never - in any Romanian presidential election campaign has there been so much, and so clearly talk Moldova. About how it can be supported. About how it can be protected. About how the Romanians here are part of the same destiny, part of the European family,” said Daniel Voda.

The government’s spokesperson urged citizens to be active and participate in the vote, as each vote matters.

“For all those who have Romanian citizenship: go to vote. Today. Sixty four polling stations are open throughout Moldova. Seek them out. Find them. Don't go alone - take friends, relatives, colleagues with you. Post about your participation in the elections. Each vote matters,” stated Daniel Voda.

According to him, through involvement, Moldova has the power to tip the scales.

“Romanian passports are not just for travel. Citizens of Moldova, through their vote, can decide who will be the next president of Romania. Moldova has the power to tip the scales. With a lucid, informed and determined pro-European vote. A vote from Moldova that helps Romania,” Daniel Voda stated.

Romanian citizens of Moldova can exercise their right to vote at the Romanian presidential elections today. In Moldova, 64 polling stations are open, which operate between 07:00 and 21:00. Eleven candidates are participating in the presidential race.
