Romania's presidential elections: over 50,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship vote

Over 50,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship exercised their right to vote at the Romanian presidential elections by 11:30, being among the most active voters from the Diaspora. About 478,000 Romanians abroad participated in the polls in all by this time.

Sixty four 64 polling stations are open in Moldova, which operating during 07:00-21:00. Thus, in the Northern region of the country, 18 polling stations are open, in the Central region - 38 polling stations, of which 20 are in the city of Chisinau, and in the Southern region - 8 polling stations.

To be able to vote in the presidential elections, citizens must show one of the following documents: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, identity bulletin, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, ordinary passport, electronic ordinary passport, temporary ordinary passport, military service card (for students in military schools).

At the 965 polling stations abroad, organized for this year's presidential elections, Romanian citizens who are abroad on the day of elections can vote, regardless of whether they have or do not have a domicile or residence outside the country.

Romanian citizens in the Diaspora have three days to vote. For the first round - on May 2, 3, and 4, and for the second round - on May 16, 17, and 18.

There are 11 candidates in the presidential race.
