Mark Tkaciuk left parliamentary faction of Alternative Bloc

The Common Action Party – Civic Congress has left the parliamentary faction of the Alternative Bloc. The announcement was made today at the beginning of the legislative sitting by the party’s president, Mark Tkaciuk, who is the only MP from this party.

The MP said he will act as an unaffiliated deputy.

“Dear deputies, I inform you that, in accordance with Articles 68 and 71 of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, I will continue to remain in the service of the people as an unaffiliated deputy,” said Mark Tkaciuk.

Earlier, the leader of the Common Action Party – Civic Congress stressed that neither he nor the members of the party he represents “understand the purpose of the existence of such a parliamentary faction.”

“Its members clearly state that they no longer bear responsibility for the actions and statements of their colleagues within the formation. In the current situation, any ambiguity is inadmissible. Therefore, the Common Action Party – Civic Congress is leaving the parliamentary faction of the Alternative Bloc. This is the only morally acceptable way to answer honestly and openly for all the statements, actions, and promises included in the electoral program,” the politician stated.

On April 10 this year, the leader of the National Alternative Movement Party (MAN), Ion Ceban, announced that he is withdrawing from the Alternative Bloc, but will continue to be part of the parliamentary faction. The other members of the bloc then declared that they had taken note of MAN’s decision and would continue to operate within a common faction.

The Alternative Bloc was created in January 2025. It included the MAN, the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM), the Common Action Party – Civic Congress, and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo. The bloc participated in the parliamentary elections of September 28, 2025, and obtained eight MP mandates.
