Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popșoi emphasized that the two states have a remarkable partnership at all levels.
“We discussed the entry into force of new agreements on social security and the recognition of driver’s licenses. Additionally, I thanked the Italian authorities for their support in organizing the elections on September 28, when over 81,000 citizens voted in the 75 stations opened in Italy,” stated Mihai Popșoi.
Moreover, the decision to open an Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development office in Chisinau was welcomed, which will contribute with sustainable cooperation programs for the development of our country.
Ambassador Giuseppe Maria Perricone highlighted “Italy’s support for Moldova’s modernization efforts and the strategic goal of joining the European Union.”
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Italian Republic were established on February 21, 1992.
