Moldova, Mongolia abolish visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, service passports

Moldova and Mongolia have signed an Agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The document was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries, Mihai Popsoi and Battsetseg Batmunkh, at a meeting held in New York.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), holders of diplomatic and service passports of Moldova and Mongolia will be able to enter, exit and transit the territory of the other country without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

The agreement will facilitate reciprocal travel and contribute to the development of contacts between Moldova and Mongolia.

During the meeting, the officials discussed the current state of the bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Minister Mihai Popsoi expressed the openness of the Moldovan authorities to boosting and capitalizing on opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, particularly in the economic and cultural fields, as well as to expanding the bilateral legal framework.

Moldova and Mongolia established diplomatic relations on January 30, 1992.
