VIDEO // Moldova's flag raised in Vatican

President Maia Sandu arrived today at Vatican, where she is scheduled to be received in an audience by Pope Leo XIV. The discussion will provide an opportunity to exchange views on promoting peace, solidarity and Christian values in a world marked by multiple challenges.

According to the agenda, the head of state will also have a meeting with Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. The discussions are part of the efforts of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen external partnerships, ensure peace in the country, and contribute to regional and European security.

Maia Sandu is paying a working visit to the Italian Republic and the Holy See on 10-12 September.

In Rome, the head of state had a meeting with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni, and discussed deepening bilateral relations, Italy's support for our country's European path, expanding economic cooperation, and support for the Moldovan community in Italy. Maia Sandu had a meeting with President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa.
