Moldovan electoral body starts printing ballot papers for polling stations abroad

Central Electoral Commission (CEC) started today printing ballot papers for polling stations abroad for the parliamentary elections on 28 September.

CEC Secretary Dana Munteanu emphasized that the ballots include the 23 registered electoral candidates.

Munteanu noted that most ballots are to be sent to the Italian Republic - 230 thousand, followed by the Federal Republic of Germany - over 140 thousand, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - about 100 thousand, the French Republic and Romania - 80 thousand ballots.

“The fewest ballots will be printed for Japan, the People's Republic of China, and Qatar, each receiving 300 ballots, while 500 ballots will be printed for the Republic of Azerbaijan, India, and Iceland,” stated Munteanu.

The printing process will last between three and five days, with a total print run of 864,300 ballots. 

In total, over 300 polling stations will be opened abroad for the parliamentary elections on 28 September. Most polling stations will be organized in Italy - 75, Germany - 36, France - 26, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 24 and Romania 23.
