Moldovan Central Electoral Commission asks Justice Ministry to initiate procedure of dissolution of three political parties
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has requested that the Justice Ministry initiates the procedure for dissolving three political parties: the Socialist Party of Moldova, the political party, Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova, and the CHANCE political party. The decision was taken in the context of repeated infringements of legal provisions requiring the submission of financial management reports.
According to the CEC, 57 political parties submitted their financial management reports for 2025 within the deadline. Sixty three out of 66 parties registered with the Public Services Agency were required to submit the financial management report.
The United Moldova Party, the Conservative Party and the Party of the Regions of Moldova were dissolved by court decisions and no longer have the obligation to submit the financial report for the previous year. The political party, For the Country, was registered by the Public Services Agency on March 6, 2026, and is not required to submit a financial management report for 2025,” the Commission said.
Thus, six political parties did not submit their reports within the timeframe and in the format established by law: the Socialist Party of Moldova; the political party, Christian-Social Union of Moldova; the CHANCE political party; the political party, Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova; the political party, Social Reform Movement; the FENIX MOLDOVA Party.
“On April 1, 2026, CEC’s authorized agents initiated contravention proceedings against the parties that had not submitted their reports within the timeframe and in the format established by law. The Commission also applied to the political party Force of Alternative and Salvation of Moldova the sanction of depriving it of state budget allocations for a period of 12 months,” the CEC emphasized.
The deadline for submitting financial management reports for 2025 was March 31, 2026.
