President Maia Sandu was welcomed this morning at Riga Castle by Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkēvičs. The official visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation, focused on regional security and Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
During the visit, the head of state will hold talks with the Latvian president, followed by a joint press conference. The agenda also includes meetings with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa and the leadership of the Latvian Parliament. Maia Sandu will deliver a speech in the plenary of the Riga Legislature.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Latvia were established on 1 September 1992. It is a strong supporter of our country’s European path.
