VIDEO // Moldovan parliament speaker at Bucha Summit says Ukrainians deserve just victory, Ukraine to prevail

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today takes part in the Bucha Summit, an international event dedicated to commemorating the victims of the atrocities committed in the context of the war in Ukraine.

In a message, Igor Grosu recalled the tragic moments experienced during the Bucha massacre, emphasizing the profound impact of those events.

“Four years have passed since the massacre in the town of Bucha, one of the localities in the suburbs of Kyiv, which witnessed unimaginable atrocities committed by the Russian army. I was there four years ago. I saw it and it is impossible to forget,” the speaker said.

Grosu noted that, together with other European leaders, he had commemorated the victims of that massacre, stressing that “official data show that over 500 people were killed in Bucha, and 33 residents are still held captive by the Kremlin’s criminal regime.”

The official also underlined the resilience of the Ukrainian people.

“Four years have passed in which Ukrainians have been fighting day by day for freedom, dignity and the right to live in peace. This war must be stopped and war crimes must be investigated and punished. Ukrainians deserve a just victory. Ukraine will prevail,” Igor Grosu said.

The summit brings together delegations from more European states and serves as a platform of solidarity with Ukraine. During the event, Igor Grosu is expected to deliver a speech, in which he will convey messages of support for peace and condemn the aggression of the Russian Federation.

At the end of the meeting, a joint declaration will be adopted, through which the participants will reaffirm their support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, condemn the crimes committed and call for continued international efforts to investigate and sanction them.
