PHOTO, VIDEO // President welcomed in Bratislava by Slovak counterpart

President Maia Sandu was welcomed today in Bratislava by Slovak counterpart Peter Pellegrini. The visit is being carried out at the invitation of the President of Slovakia.

Peter Pellegrini welcomed Maia Sandu.

“I am pleased to welcome you on the occasion of the first official bilateral visit in history by a Moldovan head of state to our beautiful country. You are arriving with a strong delegation, which I perceive as a sincere interest in deepening our bilateral relations,” the Slovak president said.

The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations in several areas, as well as on support for our country’s accession to the European Union. The two leaders will attend the signing of a bilateral agreement in the field of social protection and will hold a joint press conference.

The head of state will also have a meeting with the President of the National Council, Richard Raši, and will take part in a business forum organized on the occasion of the visit, where opportunities for expanding economic relations between Bratislava and Chisinau will be discussed. On the sidelines of the event, cooperation agreements are to be concluded between the investment agencies and chambers of commerce of the two countries.
