PM: Energy situation remains fragile after attacks in Ukraine
The energy situation of the Republic of Moldova remains fragile after the overnight attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu made the statement.
In a message published on platform X, he announced that following the bombardments, Isaccea–Vulcănești power line was disconnected, which affected the stability of the national energy system.
“Following Russia’s overnight attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Isaccea–Vulcănești power line was disconnected, once again endangering the energy stability of the Republic of Moldova. Alternative supply routes are in operation to prevent outages, but the situation remains fragile,” the prime minister wrote.
He noted that the authorities have activated alternative supply routes to avoid power interruptions; however, risks persist in the context of regional instability.
