Over 2,200 tons of fuel imported in Moldova on Wednesday

Over 1,980 tons of diesel and 275 tons of gasoline were imported on Wednesday, March 25, into the Republic of Moldova, both through the Giurgiulești International Free Port and by road tankers.

According to data from the Ministry of Energy, fuel stocks amounted to 16 days for gasoline, 14 days for liquefied petroleum gas, and 7 days for diesel.

The authorities encouraged car owners to use petroleum products rationally and to avoid purchases that are not strictly necessary.

Starting Wednesday, March 25, a state of emergency in the energy sector entered into force in the Republic of Moldova for a period of 60 days. The measure was taken after Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine, including infrastructure owned by Moldova, which also affected the Vulcănești–Isaccea power line.
