Isaccea–Vulcănești Power Line affected: Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns attacks on Ukraine
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova has firmly condemned the attacks on the energy infrastructure in southern Ukraine, which have also affected the operation of Isaccea–Vulcănești Power Line.
According to the statement issued by the Chisinau diplomatic service, these actions “undermine regional energy security and endanger critical civilian infrastructure.”
“The Republic of Moldova reaffirms its firm support for Ukraine and condemns any attack on civilian infrastructure,” the MFA declaration states.
The authorities in Chisinau note that they continue to monitor the situation and are cooperating with regional partners to ensure the stability of electricity supply and the protection of critical infrastructure.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu also noted that the overnight attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have endangered the energy stability of the Republic of Moldova.
In a message posted on the X platform, he announced that following the bombardments, the Isaccea–Vulcănești power line was disconnected, which affected the stability of the national energy system.
Alexandru Munteanu specified that the authorities activated alternative supply routes to avoid power outages, but risks persist in the context of regional instability.
