President pays official visit to Ireland

President Maia Sandu is paying an official visit to Ireland today. The agenda includes meetings with President of Ireland Catherine Connolly, Prime Minister Micheál Martin and Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris.

The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, in the context of Ireland assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union starting from 1 July.

The head of state will also hold meetings in the Irish Parliament and will take part in a public discussion at Trinity College Dublin. Maia Sandu will also meet with Moldovan citizens living in Ireland.
