Prime Minister announces resignation
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced today his resignation from the head of the Government, after eight months in office.
“Today I conclude my term as prime minister. I accepted the proposal to be prime minister with great responsibility and with the firm conviction that I could contribute to changing things for the better. Once I understood that I can no longer exercise my mandate in accordance with the principles and beliefs I hold, I choose to leave.
I thank all my colleagues – the ministers, their teams, and the people who worked with professionalism and good faith. I will continue to serve my country from whatever position I may find myself in, regardless of where I live or the responsibilities I will have, whether in the public or private sector. I believe that duty to one’s country is not tied to a position, but to the commitment we uphold. Thank you!”, Alexandru Munteanu announced.
The government led by Alexandru Munteanu was sworn into office on November 1, 2025, based on the vote of confidence granted by Parliament.
