European Commissioner for Environment begins visit to Chișinău

European Commissioner for Environment Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy Jessika Roswall has begun her visit to the Republic of Moldova. This morning, the official took part in the opening of the first edition of the “Green Finance and Investment Forum Moldova 2026”, organized in Chișinău.

The event continues the dialogue launched at the EU–Moldova Investment Conference on 4 June, where investment plans and project initiatives were announced. The first edition of the “Green Finance and Investment Forum Moldova 2026” is dedicated to accelerating the transition toward a green, competitive and resource-efficient economy. Jessika Roswall’s visit to Chișinău takes place on 29–30 June 2026.

According to the Delegation of the European Union to Chișinău, the agenda includes meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, representatives of the Government, environmental NGOs, youth and women leaders. The discussions will focus on issues related to environmental protection, sustainable water resource management and the European integration path of the Republic of Moldova.

On the second day of the visit, the Commissioner will travel to the locality of Căpriana, where she will visit the wastewater treatment plant, the new sewerage network and Căpriana Monastery, which is connected to this network. This is the first visit to our country by the European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall.
