Prime Minister on visit to Chișinău by leaders of France, Germany, Poland

Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that President of France Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz and Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk paid tribute to Moldova and people by attending Independence Day. 

According to the official, the three leaders “in a unified voice said that the place of the Republic of Moldova is in the European Union and that we have the support of France, Germany, Poland and the entire European Union for our country's sovereignty and freedom.”

Dorin Recean thanked the three leaders for their solidarity, for trusting our people, and for being with us on the path we have chosen.

“With such friends, Moldova continues decisively on its European path of peace!”, said the prime minister.

Recean thanked all citizens for beautifully celebrating Independence, mentioning that over 90,000 people participated in the events organized in the Great National Assembly Square. 

“Thank you all - from home and diaspora - for celebrating Independence beautifully! Over 90,000 people gathered in the PMAN and sang, danced, and rejoiced together. Independence unites us!”, said Dorin Recean.

The Republic of Moldova marked the 34th anniversary of the proclamation of Independence on August 27. On this occasion, Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz and Donald Tusk came to Chișinău. The three officials, together with the head of state held a press conference and attended the festive concert organized in the Great National Assembly Square, where they delivered speeches in Romanian.
