The events on Moldova's Independence Day were conducted safely and without major incidents, with tens of thousands of citizens participating.
According to the Police, over 90,000 citizens attended the events organized in the capital, and several thousand celebrated in the country's localities.
Authorities mention that throughout the day, there were attempts to disrupt the events by blocking routes and creating disorder. In this context, over 90 individuals involved were taken to police stations, and their intentions were prevented and discouraged.
Today, in Chișinău and several other localities of the country, events celebrating Independence Day took place. In the capital, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu, three of Europe's most influential leaders attended: French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
