Republic of Moldova hosts Black Sea Regional Security Conference under aegis of International Crimea Platform

The Black Sea Regional Security Conference is taking place today in Chișinău. The event is organized under the aegis of the International Crimea Platform.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the conference will bring together high-level officials from the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and partner states, as well as representatives of international organizations, the business community, civil society and academia.

The meeting is co-organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, with the support of the European Union.

“In the context of the significant impact that the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine has on the security situation in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov region, the discussions will focus on regional security strategies, freedom of navigation, the impact on critical infrastructure, the importance of regional cooperation, lessons learned, as well as the formulation of practical recommendations for strengthening regional security and resilience,” the MFA in Chișinău stated.

The Black Sea regional security conference is now in its third edition. The event continues the dialogue launched in Bucharest in 2023 and in Sofia in 2024, in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine.
