Moldova efficiently uses EU support

The Republic of Moldova is the EU candidate country achieving the best results in implementing the reforms under the European Growth Plan, said MEP Siegfried Mureșan during a meeting in Chișinău with Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, where the European support for the country was assessed.

According to the European official, the progress made by the authorities in Chișinău in implementing the reforms has been appreciated at the level of European institutions, a fact also confirmed by the disbursement of almost 200 million euros from the European Growth Plan.

“I congratulated Cristina Gherasimov on these results. This instrument is being implemented well, but we also need to prepare the future European funds for the Republic of Moldova from the post-2027 budget,” said Siegfried Mureșan.

In the same context, the MEP, in his capacity as the European Parliament’s chief negotiator for the future budget of the European Union, emphasized that the Republic of Moldova remains a priority in the negotiations on future financial allocations.

In the context of launching the technical negotiations for the last clusters of the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession process, European Commissioner Marta Kos announced the disbursement of approximately 200 million euros to the Republic of Moldova. The amount was granted following the country’s completion of 24 out of the 26 reforms set out in the European Growth Plan, reflecting the country’s progress in implementing the reforms necessary for European integration and in strengthening the financial support provided by the European Union.
