Romania's presidential elections: over 80,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship vote by 18:00

Over 80,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship participated in Romania’s presidential elections by 18:00. About 844,000 Romanians from abroad voted at  the polls in all by this time.

The voter turnout is higher than at the elections on November 24 last year, when approximately 81,000 Romanian citizens voted in Moldova.

Romanian citizens residing in Moldova today can exercise their right to vote at 64 polling stations. They are open during 7:00-21:00. Thus, there are three hours left until the polling stations close. If there are people in queue, the voting process can be extended by three hours at the most, until midnight in Romania.

A total of 965 polling stations were opened for the presidential elections in Romania abroad. Romanian citizens in the Diaspora have three days to vote. For the first round – May 2, 3 and 4, and in case of a second round – May 16, 17 and 18.
