Moldovan PM invites members of American Chamber of Commerce in Romania to invest in Moldova
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, during a today’s visit to Bucharest, held a meeting with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania), focused on strengthening regional economic cooperation and harnessing investment opportunities of Moldova.
PM Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that Moldova provided friendly conditions for business development, including by capitalizing on the excellent economic relations between the country and Romania and on the prospects offered by the European integration path.
The prime minister encouraged AmCham Romania member companies to explore the economic potential of Moldova and underlined that the two states can act as a common market for investors, capable of attracting large-scale projects. The sectors with high potential include information technology, infrastructure and tourism.
The participants in the discussions highlighted the measures promoted by Moldovan government, in order to improve the investment climate, digitize public services, modernize the economy and integrate into the EU Single Market. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu reiterated his commitment to continue reforms aimed at economic growth, de-bureaucratization and predictability for the business environment.
Romania stays Moldova’s main trading partner and leading foreign investor, with 300 million dollars in investments and 1,744 enterprises with Romanian capital operating in Moldova.
