41 percent of Chisinau's population vaccinated
Chisinau, Dec. 13 / MOLDPRES /- Chisinau authorities aim to reach 70 percent of vaccinated population in three months.
Acting head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Chisinau Municipal Council Boris Gâlcă said at today's online meeting of the municipal services that the largest number of immunized people in the country is registered in the capital.
"The vaccination rate in Chisinau is the highest in the Republic of Moldova, 41 percent, but it is insufficient to achieve collective immunity. We aim to reach the figure of 70 percent in three months, which gives the community collective immunity ", Gâlcă said.
At the same time, Gâlcă said there is a high demand from Chisinau residents for immunization with Johnson and Sputnik V vaccines. We inform the citizens that the purchase of the vaccine does not fall within the competence of the municipal authorities ", he said.
Gâlcă noted that the high rate of immunization of the population of Chisinau is due to the existing infrastructure in the city and that, in this context, there are conditions for reaching the percentage of vaccinated people necessary for the development of collective immunity.
